About Us

Simon Philip Interiors is the in-house fabric brand of
A. Shufflebotham & Son LLP — a fifth-generation family business based in Macclesfield,
a town long associated with British textile excellence.

Our exclusive fabric collections are shaped by daily insight from our factory shop and refined with the
needs of trade professionals in mind. From British-woven woollens and velvets to printed cottons and bouclés,
each line is designed to inspire interiors and perform commercially.

We began producing our own fabrics in 2015, starting with British-woven tartans, followed by our
Classic Revival printed designs in 2018. Today, Simon Philip Interiors offers a complete in-house range,
available online, in-store, and through our expanding trade platform.

Our Generations

The brand is led today by fifth-generation duo James and Daniel, who both joined the family
business after careers in the theatre industry. Bringing a strong creative vision and a love of design,
they launched Simon Philip Interiors to unite tradition, innovation, and a modern way to shop for fabrics
— both in-store and online.

Previously, Clare and James (4th generation) elevated the retail side of the business,
expanding the shop’s offering and helping to grow its reputation as a trusted source for high-quality fabrics.

Before them, Roger and Joyce (3rd generation) played a key role in the company’s evolution —
opening the warehouse to the public in 1995 and establishing the customer-first model that continues to define us today.

Earlier still, Arthur (2nd generation) shifted the company into textiles in the pre-war years,
sourcing surplus cloth from Macclesfield mills and helping establish its reputation in the local trade.

At the very beginning was Matthew Shufflebotham, who founded the business in 1926.
What started as a scrap and cart-hire business has grown into a nationally recognised name in British interiors —
still independent, still family-run, and still committed to offering beautiful fabrics with a personal touch.
