Step 2: Prepare Your Curtains

Open and remove your curtains from all packaging.

Lay one curtain flat on a clean surface.

Measuring from the top of the curtain, lightly mark the measurement from Step 1 on the back of the curtain, to one side of each pleat and on the  returns at each end.

If you would prefer not to mark the curtain you will need to measure this whilst inserting each hook.

Step 3: Insert the Pin Hooks

Place your hand inside the buckram heading through the opening on the back.

Insert the pin hooks at each marked position, ensuring they go through the fabric but not to the front of the curtain. Do not put the hook into the stitches or they may split.

You should be able to feel the hook on the inside of the heading.

Continue until all hooks are in place.

At one end you will have two hooks close together, this should be on the outside edge of the window with one hook trapped by the bracket.

Step 4: Repeat for the Other Curtain

If you have a pair, repeat Step 3 with the other curtain.

Step 5: Hang the Curtains

Starting from one side, attach the hooks to your rings or gliders. It is advised that you or a helper takes the weight of the curtain whilst you attach the first section of hooks.

Repeat for the other curtain if you have a pair.

Step 6: Dress the Curtains

Draw the curtains back to their open position.

Starting from the outside edge, run your hand firmly down each pleat or fold to help them fall smoothly, you may need to pull certain sections forward and push other sections backwards.

Use ribbon, fabric scraps, or strips of plastic from the packaging to tie the curtains at the top, middle, and bottom.

Leave them tied for up to 48 hours to help form the pleats.
